Bring a Bottle Worth Sharing

Choose something you’d be excited to taste yourself. It doesn’t have to be a “unicorn,” but it should represent quality and care. Think interesting, not necessarily expensive.

Announce Your Pour

When you arrive, let the host know what you brought. They’ll decide when to open it so everyone gets a fair taste and the lineup flows well.

Pace Your Pour

A “share” is just that—sharing. A standard pour is ½ to 1 oz. Keep it light so everyone gets a taste.

Respect the Bottle & the Table

Handle each bottle carefully, replace corks or caps securely, and wipe up drips. If you spill, own it and clean it.

Sip, Savor, and Listen

Take a moment with each pour. Discuss tasting notes, but stay open—everyone’s palate is different. The bottle share is as much about conversation as the whiskey.

Offer Gratitude

Thank the host and your fellow sharers. A simple follow-up message or a small thank-you bottle next time goes a long way.
